Webb City squeaked by Republic 25-23 in the 1st set of a Central Ozark Conference match Tuesday night. Republic made sure it didn’t happen again.
The Lady Tigers stormed past the Lady Cardinals in the final two sets of the night, 25-14, 25-11, to pick up their first COC win of the season at home. Carle Ward had a big game, leading Republic with six blocks and three service aces. Her service game in the second set helped Republic pull away and take control.
Amber McCoy led Republic with 18 assists. Emma Pearce and Bella Drennan had nine kills apiece.
Republic won the freshman match 28-26, 25-22. Webb City won the JV match 25-14, 25-19.
Republic’s varsity improves to 7-5 overall. They’re 1-1 in the COC.
