The Republic girls tennis team ran its record to 7-0 with another conference win Thursday night, 8-1 at Carl Junction.
The Lady Tigers won all three doubles matches to get the night off to a good start. That included a close match between Republic’s Heather Georges and Katie Stiles and Carl Junction’s Bailee Lassiter and Taylor Niemeyer. Georges and Stiles squeaked by 9-8 (7-4) to put Republic in control heading into singles.
Republic won five of six singles matches to the clinch the victory. They improved to 4-0 in the Central Ozark Conference. It set them up for a big week, with Neosho, Ozark, and Joplin on the schedule.
“The girls are playing pretty well as we move into the last weeks of the season,” says coach Eric Hanson.
