Treydon Rackley didn’t average 20 points per game, didn’t throw behind-the-back passes, and didn’t throw down monster dunks. But when the game was on the line, more often than not, coach Trevyor Fisher found a way to get the ball in his hands.
Rackley scored 28 points in his second game of the season, but it was his play at crunch time that always helped him stand out. In Republic’s double-overtime win at Nixa, Caleb Singley tipped in the game-winner. But it was Rackley who caught fire in the fourth quarter, scoring 17 points in the final 16 minutes of play, to set Republic up for the win. It was that performance, and others like it, that earned Rackley Central Ozark Conference Player of the Year honors, and helped earn him all-state recognition. You voted Rackley’s award-winning season as the #4 story of 2016-17.
