Two more matches — two more wins. The Lady Tiger tennis team swept a double-header Tuesday at home, dominating Webb City, then coming from behind to beat Nixa for a pair of Central Ozark Conference victories.
In the opener, Republic didn’t drop a match against Webb City, winning 9-0. No Lady Tiger lost more than two games in a set, in either singles or doubles. Heather Georges and Jordyn Gianopulos turned in 6-0 sweeps in singles, while Kaitlyn Snyder and Molly Womack swept their doubles match.
The Nixa win wasn’t quite as easy.
” girls … came out flat against Nixa and lost close matches at #1 and #3 doubles,” says coach Eric Hanson. The girls rallied in singles, with Snyder setting the tone with an 8-0 win over Odom. Matches don’t always go the way you want them, but the girls kept swinging and won against a good Nixa team.
Georges, Carly McAtee and Gianopolus all won close matches to help close out the victory for Republic.
