Republic landed two players on the All-Central Ozark Conference baseball team in 2017. Josh Gentry and Austin Atkins were both named to the All-COC Second Team.
In 21 games, Atkins hit .478 and compiled a .549 on-base percentage. He scored 13 runs and drove in 17. He also stole five bases. Atkins pitched 24 innings with a 4.08 earned run average.
Gentry hit .342 with a .397 on-base percentage. He also pitched 38 innings–most on the team–and compiled a 3.44 ERA.
The Tigers wrapped up their season with a loss to Joplin in the district tournament last Saturday.
