The Tigers got a solid starting performance by Cameron Beck against most of the Webb City lineup, but Channing Mickey was too much to handle. Mickey slugged two home runs, and the Tigers managed only four base hits in a 5-0 loss on the road at Webb City Tuesday.
Beck kept the Tigers in the game and didnt allow a run until Webb City scored in a single tally in the bottom of the fourth inning on Mickeys first homer. The Cardinals added three more in the fifth to stretch their lead to 4-0, and added a single run in the sixth inning (Mickeys second homer) to cap the scoring.
Beck allowed four runs on six hits and three walks. He didnt strike out a batter. Blake Messier pitched one inning in relief, allowing a single run, striking out one and walking one. Each Republic pitcher allowed a home run.
For the Tigeres, no one had more than one base hit. Messier, Austin Atkins, Max Fricks, and Clayton Crowleyreached base, all on singles. Fricks was also hit by a pitch.

American Family Baseball Tiger of the Game
The Tigers didn’t get much going offensively at Webb City, but Max Fricks was one of the only Republic players who saw some success at the plate. Fricks had one of the Tigers’ four base hits, and also reached safely in another at-bat, when he was hit by a pitch. He also toiled behind the plate for pitchers Cameron Beck and Blake Messier, and he’s our American Family Baseball Tiger of the Game.
