The Lady Tigers dominated their opening track meet at home, winning the Republic Classic team title by 79 points. Sophomore Avy Powell-Qualo led the way with four top finishes: in the high jump (4’10”), in the 100-meter dash (13.18), and as a member of two relay teams, the 4×100 and 4×200 (Delaney Smith, Haven Lander, Madi Appleberry, and Powell-Qualo.
Jade Kirby finished 1st in the 800-meter run (2:40.46). Lander won the pole vault (clearing 10’6”) and finished second behind Powell-Qualo in the 100m dash. Lawson Tunnell won the 300-meter hurdles (52.31), and Hailey Spinabella won the triple jump (32’7”). Republic’s 4×400 relay team (Watkins, Tunnell, Kirby, and Delaney Smith
The Republic boys finished third overall, behind Sarcoxie and Strafford.
A pair of Tigers finished 1-2 in the 100-meter dash. Skyler Owen won with a time of 11.07, and Jake Jones was right behind at 11.60. Treydon Rackley won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:07.26. Republic also won the 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x800m relays. Jack Hayes won both the shot put (43’ 9 1/2”) and the discus (128’ 10 1/2”) competitions.
