Piper Wright’s sophomore volleyball class is not only pretty good on the court — they’re pretty good in the classroom, as well. Three sophomore volleyball players from last fall’s team have earned academic all-state honors. They’re Taegan Thomas, Lauren O’Hara, and Bella Drennan.
All three qualified for the all-state recognition by maintaining a 3.6 GPA while playing in at least 75% of Republic’s varsity matches.
Drennan had 600 assists playing the setter position for Republic last year — and also led the team in service points and service aces.
O’Hara led the team in kills with 196. Thomas was second on the team with 26 blocks.
