The Republic Special Olympics basketball teams competed in their first tournament of the year Saturday: the Special Olympics Area Tournament in Neosho.
The Republic Tigers High School Unified team went 1-1 and took home the 3rd place bronze medal. Leading scorers in each game:

The Republic Tiger Claws Middle School/Elementary Unified team went 0-2 and came away with a 4th place ribbon, but had plenty of bright spots as all participants scored against a much taller Neosho team. Leading scorers for each game:
