Two days after a flat performance in a loss to Springfield Central, the Tiger soccer team came out flat again at Marshfield Thursday night — but that didn’t last long. The Tigers outscored Marshfield 5-0 in the second half to pull away for a 6-2 victory.
Dylan Brown led the Tigers with three goals and two assists. Julio Quezada scored two goals and assisted on another. Armando Hurtado scored a goal as well. Drew Flippin added two assists.
“We were down 2-1 at halftime. (It wasn’t) a very good first half, then we turned it around and put it on them in the second half,” says coach Kevin Hauck.
The JV team won its game 1-0.
Republic improves to 9-3 this season. The JV team is 6-3.
The varsity team plays in the Willard Fall Classic tournament this weekend.
