The Lady Tigers tennis team continued to roll in the Central Ozark Conference. Republic stayed undefeated in the COC (6-0), toppling Neosho and Ozark in a double dual Tuesday. The victories clinched at least a tie for the regular-season COC title, with only Branson remaining on the conference schedule for Republic.
The Lady Tigers dominated Neosho in an 8-1 win, then squeaked out a close victory over rival Ozark, 5-4. The Lady Tigers won two of three doubles matches, including a come-from-behind win by Molly Womack and Makenzie Clark, 8-6. Kaitlyn Snyder, Kaytlin Pearce, and Womack won their singles matches to help Republic hold on.
“This was a hard fought win over a good Ozark team,” says coach Eric Hanson. “(I’m) really proud of the girls for their hard work and determination.”
Republic is now 7-1 overall.
“The girls have just found a way to win even on nights where things were really tough,” Hanson says. “We really need to keep this going as we move into the last part of the season and the COC Tournament.”
