The Lady Tigers tennis team swept its second consecutive match to start the season, whipping Bolivar at home Tuesday, 9-0. The Lady Tigers got strong performances from Macie Thornhill and Heather Georges in doubles. They won their match without dropping a game. Molly Womack was also perfect in her singles match, beating Maddie Geurin 8-0.
Kaitlyn Snyder and Kaytlin Pearce won their doubles match 8-5 to start the night, then followed it up with singles victories (Snyder over Mary Harris 8-5 and Pearce over Mackenzie Roberts 8-2).
Makenzie Clark and Georges also won their singles matches, 8-2 and 8-1 respectively. Thornhill won her singles match by forfeit when Jennifer Stillwagon retired with an injury.
“It was a great team effort tonight,” says coach Eric Hanson. “I’m proud of how hard everyone worked. Bolivar has a solid team, so this is a good win for us.”
