That’s a Wrap: Tiger Tennis Finishes Record Regular Season

The Republic tennis team wrapped up its record-setting regular season with another clean sweep. The Tigers beat Carl Junction 9-0 to finish with a regular-season record of 14-1. That’s the best in the history of the program.

The closest match of the night was the doubles match involving Gabe Bandfield and Case Birlew. They fell behind 7-5, but won four games in a row to take their match 9-7.

Michael Nacy and Dylan Mackey both won their singles matches without dropping a game. The doubles team of Mackey and Brad Hendrix also won 8-0.

The JV team also won, 13-5. The JV Tigers finished their year with a record of 8-2-1. That’s also a program-best.

The Tigers will be playing in the Central Ozark Conference Tournament at Branson Wednesday.

Republic also received district seedings Monday. The Tigers are the #1 seed in the district and will play the winner of Joplin/Neosho next Tuesday.
