Playing with a whole new lineup in the absence of ace Michael Nacy, the Republic tennis team had no trouble dispatching Parkview in a shutout Monday evening. The dual win was the 11th of the year for the Tigers, tying the all-time program record for wins in a season, set last year. (See photo gallery below.)
With Nacy sidelined temporarily with an injury, the Tigers mixed up the lineup to give more players a chance to see the court at the varsity level, with each Republic player playing only one match. Brad Hendrix teamed with Cameron Doke at #1 doubles, and Doke earned his first varsity win 8-6. Gabe Bandfield and Seth Meyer won their #2 doubles match 8-0. Ryan and Nathan Cameron teamed on #3 doubles for an 8-0 win as well.
Dylan Mackey moved up to #1 singles, where he earned an 8-6 victory. Austin Massey, Case Birlew, Brett Carpenter, Hunter Creek, and Drew Mackey also picked up victories.
