Lady Tigers Shut Out Competition at Ozark

The Republic girls soccer team stormed through their pool at Ozark, posting three shutouts on the way to a perfect weekend at the Lady Tiger Invitational. It was a big weekend for Emily Jordan, who scored eight goals, and for goalkeeper Tara Campbell, who teamed with the Lady Tiger defense to hold three straight opponents scoreless while starting keeper Jessica Laster sat out because of an injury.

Republic whipped Ozark’s JV team in the first game Friday night, 6-0. After a slow start, Republic scored five second-half goals to pull away. Emily Jordan scored two goals and assisted on a third. Madison Mitchell scored twice as well. Anna Jones had a goal and an assist. Anna Strusz had a single goal. Grace Cremeans and Anna Wilcox each had an assist.

Early Saturday morning, Republic dismantled Osage 6-0 to run their tournament record to 2-0. Emily Jordan scored four goals, and Madison Mitchell and Charlotte Mikkelsen added one each. Emily Griffith had two assists. Lauryl Hyde and Anna Wilcox each had one assist.

Saturday afternoon, Republic beat Rogersville for a second time this season. Jordan scored two goals and added an assist. Mitchell scored a goal and assisted on two others.

Republic improves to 6-3. The Lady Tigers will travel to Neosho for a conference game on Tuesday before hosting Ozark on Thursday.
