Republic soccer wrapped up its regular season with a 4-2 win over Webb City on the road Tuesday. The win gave Republic an 11-10 record, and secured the team’s second consecutive winning season.
Ray Rosas led the Tigers with two goals. His second, according to coach David Ashby, was one of the Tigers’ best of the year. The possession started when Drew Flippin won the ball at midfield and passed it to Ray Rosas. Rosas gave the ball back to Flippin in the corner. Flippin slid the ball across the box, where Rosas finished to complete the scoring.
Julio Quezada scored a goal to start the scoring for Republic, on an assist by Dylan Brown. Republic’s second goal came when Quezada fed Manny Elivo, who finished on a backdoor run.
The Tigers finish the week with a 1-1 record, after dropping a 2-0 decision to powerhouse Springfield Catholic on Monday.
Republic begins district play next Tuesday at Glendale against West Plains.
