Canfield Takes 2nd at COC Meet

Republic’s Philip Canfield took 2nd place at the Central Ozark Conference cross-country meet in Nixa Tuesday. Canfield finished three seconds off his best previous time at the Nixa course.

Jake Parker continued his improvement, running another personal best time at 18:03. That was a 13-second improvement over his previous best. Chad Parker also turned in a PR, running an 18:30. That was 26 seconds better than his previous best. Zach Branstetter, Aaron Scobee, Owen Davis and Sean Cross also competed on the varsity team.

Tyler Mackey (19:57) and Caleb Creech (20:36) both had personal bests in the junior varsity race.

In the girls’ race, both Destinee Tyk and Emily Neal had to pull out of the race, leaving Republic without enough runners to compete as a team. Madi Appleberry (21:25) and Tabitha Carruthers (25:26) both had personal bests.
