Republic overcame a slow start to win the championship of the Silver Bracket at the Springfield Classic Tournament Saturday.
The Lady Tigers started play Saturday with a loss to Rogers, Arkansas, 25-19 25-23. They split two sets with the Kickapoo JV squad before losing to Glendale, 25-23 25-17.
Republic landed in the silver bracket after the qualifying round. There, they began with a three-set win over Fatima, 27-25 14-25 25-20. The follows it up with a win over Kickapoo’s JV to clinch the bracket title. The score in that one was 25-21 21-25 25-14.
Republic’s record after the tournament is 4-6-1 for the season. The Lady Tigers host Parkview Tuesday.
