Philip Canfield finished second and Destinee Tyk took ninth at the cross country meet in Willard.
Canfield finished in 16:48, behind only Justin Johnson of Willard (16:34). Zach Branstetter ran the course in 18:53. Chad Parker finished with a personal best of 18:59.
In the girls’ race, Destinee Tyk ran the course in 21:43. Senior Sara Wilken was the second-best Republic finisher for the first time, at 23:38. Madi Appleberry was next, at 23:46; Payton Coskey finished in 26:41.
