A record number of girls are on the Republic tennis roster as the 2015 season begins. It’s hard to imagine a better start to their season.
The Lady Tigers jumped on top of Reeds Spring early and cruised to a 9-0 win at JR Martin Park Friday. In three doubles matches, Republic lost only four games. The #1 team of Brittany Thompson and Kaitlyn Snyder defeated Lauren Hustead and Makenna Curtis 8-3. Heather Georges and Makenzie Clark teamed to defeat Mariah Thompson and Katelyn Lambert 8-1. Macie Thornhill and Molly Womack shut out Salma Sanchez and McKennzie Cockerel 8-0.
The sweep continued in singles. Thornhill and Tayler Avery both shut out their opponents. Georges, Thompson, and Snyder won 8-1. Clark won her singles match 8-3.
The Republic JV squad also turned in a 9-0 sweep.
