The Lady Tigers made it five straight wins to open their 2015 season, pounding Liberty 6-1 at home Tuesday night. Jocelyn Carpenter led the way with three goals. Lesleigh Fenton added two, and Jade Sawyer scored one.
Carpenter has already scored 11 goals, just five games into the season. She got her first of the night on an assist from Fenton about 8 1/2 minutes into the game. Her second goal came about seven minutes later on a penalty kick.
Michayla Shanks picked up an assist with about 15 minutes left in the first half, feeding Fenton, who put the ball into the lower left corner of the net to make it 3-0. Another goal by Fenton — this one assisted by Emily Jordan — made it 4-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Fenton set up Carpenter for the hat trick to make it 5-0, and Sawyer rounded out the scoring with her second goal of the year.
