Eight Football Tigers Earn COC Honors

Blake Fanning
Blake Fanning returns an interception that cut short a potential game-winning drive for Neosho. Fanning was named to the all-COC team along with seven other Tigers.

Republic landed eight players on the all-conference team in the Central Ozark Conference this season, two more than last season.

Four members of the offense made the all-COC team — two backs and two linemen. Tailback Jerney Jones, who rushed for 1,042 yards, was named to the 2nd team. So was offensive lineman Skyler Hale. Quarterback Jake Smith earned all-conference honorable mention, alongside offensive lineman Levi Cook.

On the defense, two Tigers were named to the 2nd team. Outside linebacker Blake Fanning, who led the Tigers with 91.5 tackles, four sacks, and three interceptions was one of them. So was defensive lineman Bradley Wright, despite missing much of the season with an injury. Linebacker Zach Jester, who recorded 82 tackles for the Tigers, was given honorable mention.

Mitchell Heinzler also won all-COC honors. He was named the 2nd-team kicker.
