2009 Softball Lady Tigers
The 2009 Lady Tigers were an unexpected entry in the Final Four, after having lost key members from their 2008 Final Four squad. But some late-season magic propelled them into the semifinals.

Read about the game in detail here. And here’s the video of the grand slam:
Republic went on to lose in the semifinals in a 10-inning classic against Kirksville, 1-0. They finished 4th in the state–far better than many observers expected when the season began.
