Republic kept the pressure on West Plains all night, but it was the Zizzers who got the ball in the net enough to win, topping the Tigers 2-1 Thursday night in West Plains.
West Plains jumped ahead on a penalty kick in the first half when Republic keeper Mason Michaelis was called for a foul in the penalty box. The score stayed that way until the 2nd half, when the Zizzers scored again, booting it in from 40 yards out, just over the hands of Michaelis.
After peppering the West Plains keeper with shots all night, the Tigers finally got on the board when Andrew Farrell poked the ball into the net from the 18. That was the only offense Republic could muster.
The Tigers fall to 1-3 this season.
