Republic wasted no time putting away Parkview in a blowout nonconference win at home Tuesday, 25-3 25-12. The Lady Tigers got a strong all-around performance from senior Emily Preston, who contributed 11 assists, seven digs, and three service aces to lead the team in all three categories. Michayla Shanks had five kills for the Lady Tigers.
It’s just the second win of the year for Republic,
“That’s something we were focused on from the beginning–not letting up under any circumstances,” says coach Piper Wright. “We got a lot of the younger kids in and they did the same thing. That was their goal, too.”
It’s just Republic’s second win of the season, but Wright says she’s not unhappy with the way the team has been playing overall.
“I do feel good about how we’re playing. I think we’re a really good team. I believe that,” Wright says. “We’ve played a lot of really, really good teams.
“Hopefully we can build some momentum, especially with a win like tonight.”
Republic improves to 2-7-2.
