Late Score Pushes Cardinals Past Tigers

Webb City scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 6th inning and went on to beat Republic 4-2 Tuesday night in Republic.

Tyler Davison reached on a three-base error, one batter before Kolten Potts drove him home with a groundout to give Webb City a 3-2 lead. The Cardinals scored an insurance run in the 7th before Cade Crouch picked up the complete game on the mound to pick up the win.

Crouch allowed just two runs on four hits for Webb City. He struck out nine and walked three.

For Republic, Dustin Eby allowed four runs — just two of them earned — on five hits. He struck out seven and walked two.

The Tigers’ only runs came in the bottom of the 4th, after Webb City had grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the inning. Parker Nelson walked to lead off and Riley Crews tripled hime home. Crews scored on an RBI single by Austin Beckner.

Crews was 2-for-4 to lead the Tigers at the plate. He’s now 4-for-7 with two triples in his first two games of the season.

The Tigers are now 0-2. They will be back on the field at home Wednesday against Nixa.
