Cody Sandridge is off to a strong start at the state wrestling tournament in Columbia. He won a 5-0 decision over Bryan Baker of Winnetonka in his first match.
Sandridge improves to 12-0, after missing most of the season because of injury. He next will meet Caleb McIntosh of Rockwood Summit, who has a record of 40-9 after defeating Luke Sammelmann of Fort Zumwalt North in the opening round.
Sandridge is competing in the Class 3 152-pound division. The Republic junior trying to earn all-state honors for the third time in three high school seasons.
