Metscher Ties COC Record; Stanfield Wins 3 Events

316085 379091992208505 1654081738 nGarrett Metscher’s high jump of 6 feet 6 inches tied the all-time record for the Central Ozarks Conference, and secured one of his two individual championships on the day. Metscher’s win in the high jump and the long jump were among the highlights for Republic at the COC championship Wednesday. He also finished 2nd in the triple jump.

Among the girls, freshman Brooke Stanfield continued her dominating season with three individual championships. Stanfield won the 100-, 200-, and 400-meters, leading the Republic girls to an overall 2nd place finish. Stanfield also finished 3rd in the high jump.

Other point-earners for the Republic girls:

Molly Zinecker placed 6th in the 100-meter dash.

Michaela Moore finished 4th in the 200-meter dash.

Abby Norris was 3rd in the 400-meter dash.

Megan Hergesheimer finished 2nd in the 1600- and 3200-meter runs.

Kayla Bartelsmeyer finished 7th in the 3200-meter run.

The girls 4×100 relay team of Moore, Holly Burks, Autumn Garner, and Molly Zinecker finished 4th.

The girls 4×200 relay team of Moore, Olivia Didway, Rachel Allen, and Zinecker finished 2nd.

The girls 4×800 relay team of Hergesheimer, Bartelsmeyer, Allen, and Norris finished 2nd.

Sarah Kreul took 4th in the shot put and 2nd in the discus.

Other point-earners for the Republic boys:

Tryston Ellison finished 5th in the 100-meter dash and 6th in the 200-meter dash.

Dalton Golding finished 3rd in the 800-meter run.

Ryan Way finished 2nd in both the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs.

The boys team finished 7th overall.
