Republic scored five runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning on the way to an 8-4 win over Mt. Vernon Friday.
Nathan Strobel and Riley Norris drove in three runs apiece for the Tigers. Strobel and Austin Beckner had two hits apiece.
Clayton Rose started on the mound for the Tigers and picked up the win. He allowed four runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings. Skylar Phillips took the loss for Mt. Vernon.
