After a rough 2012 season, the Republic Tigers boys tennis squad is off to a better start this year. The Tigers won their varsity tennis dual over Clever 7-2 Thursday. The JV team won 5-1.
The match was the first under new head coach Dan Vales, a former assistant tennis instructor at Cooper Tennis Center in Springfield. It was also the first win for Republic in a dual since April 18, 2011.
