Tigers & Lady Tigers Snag Top Seeds

The pairings are set for the boys and girls district basketball tournaments, and Republic is the top seed in both. The Class 4 District 11 tournament will be held in Rogersville.

West Plains Looms for Lady Tigers

The Republic Lady Tigers (21-1) will start district play on February 26th at 6 p.m., after a having a bye in the first round. Republic meets the winner of Reeds Spring (9-13) and Cassville (11-13).

The other opening-round game features Aurora (9-14) against Rogersville (4-17). The winner of that game faces West Plains (23-1).

If the girls bracket holds true to form, Republic and West Plains will square off in a district championship worthy of a Final Four matchup on March 1 at 7 p.m. Both teams have only one loss so far.

Tigers Face Potential Rogersville Rematch

On the boys side, Republic’s 19-4 record earned it the #1 seed, despite an earlier loss to Rogersville. The Wildcats (13-8) are seeded #2. Both those teams get a bye in the first round.

Aurora (10-12) faces Reeds Spring (9-12) in one opener. The winner of that game meets Republic at 6 p.m. on February 28.

The other first-round game involves West Plains (13-11) and Cassville (6-14). That winner will meet Rogersville in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m.
