Republic volleyball player Jordan Jones, who helped lead Republic to two state quarterfinal appearances in three years, has been honored by her alma mater. Jones was given a plaque recognizing her as an all-state honoree, to be hung alongside Republic’s other all-state athletes.
Jones was a member of the all-state volleyball team after her sophomore year — the first of two seasons that the Lady Tigers advanced to the state quarterfinals. In both seasons, Republic fell just two points short of advancing to the Final Four.
As a freshman, Jones was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Junior Olympic Nationals. After her sophomore year, in addition to the all-state honors, she was a 1st-team all-district, all-conference, and all-region honoree.
Jones played tennis during her senior year, helping the Lady Tigers win the first district championship in school history.
She graduated second in her class with a 4.41 GPA in 2012, and is currently attending the University of Missouri. She’s a setter on the Mizzou traveling club volleyball team.
