Republic Pounds Glendale to Wrap Regular Season

After a tough weekend at the Carthage Tournament, the Lady Tigers softball team put an exclamation point on a solid regular season. Republic blew out Glendale 11-0 Monday in Springfield.

The Lady Tigers jumped ahead 5-0 in the bottom of the 2nd inning. They scored three more in the 3rd and three in the 4th. They collected 14 base hits, including three by Abby Norris.

Maddy Coates drove in four runs for the Lady Tigers, and scored two more. Angel Serles drove in three and scored one run for Republic.

Stephanie Eckhoff allowed just one hit and didn’t walk a batter in picking up the shutout.

Republic ends its first regular season under coach Lee Dishman with a 17-9 record. They open district play October 4th against Neosho. Republic is seeded 3rd and Neosho is 6th.
