Republic’s cross-country team has advanced four runners — two boys and two girls — to sectionals. As they have all year, Ryan Way and Megan Hergesheimer led the way for Republic.
In the boys’ race, Way finished sixth, with a time of 16:18. Also for Republic, freshman Philip Canfield qualified for sectionals with a time of 17:11.94. That was good for 29th overall, with the top 30 runners advancing.
On the girls’ side, Hergesheimer finished fourth. She finished in 19:39. Republic senior Kayla Bartelsmeyer also advanced to sectionals, finishing in 14th place with a time of 20:24.29.
The sectional race will be held October 27th in Camdenton.
