Willard scored a sloppy goal five minutes into the game, and never looked back on the way to a 3-0 win at Republic. The score remained 1-0 through halftime, but Willard added two more in the second half to put the game away.
Coach Mike Hines says his team got outworked.
“Effort was everything. They beat us in the 50/50s. They controlled the tempo of play,” Hines says.
“We didn’t match their physicality for the first 50 to 55 minutes. The last 15-20 minutes of the game, we gave them everything they wanted.”
