Republic Scores 7 in the 6th to Topple Carthage

The Republic Lady Tigers had gone 11 consecutive innings without scoring when they exploded for seven runs to score a come-from-behind win over Carthage. The Lady Tigers trailed 1-0 heading into the bottom of the 6th when Republic got the offense rolling.

The Lady Tigers tied the game when Lauren Strobel reached on a bases-loaded error by the pitcher. Carthage forced a runner out at home to keep the game tied 1-1.

With two outs, Stephanie Eckhoff drove in two runs with a bases-loaded single. That put the Lady Tigers ahead 3-1, and they scored four more to put the game away.

Previously in the day, Republic had beaten Lebanon 7-0, then lost to Truman 6-0.

Next up in the tournament, Bolivar tonight. I’ll have details on that game when they come in.
