Republic fell behind early and never challenged Nixa in a 6-1 loss to open the conference soccer season. Republic’s defense gave up a barrage of goals to a more experienced Eagles squad, falling behind 5-0 before getting on the board.
The Tigers’ lone goal came around the 68th minute, when Mitchell Heinzler put the ball in the back of the net.
