Junior Ryan Way finished 19th and freshman Megan Hergesheimer finished 23rd at the Southern Stampede Cross Country Race at Missouri Southern in Joplin Saturday.
Runners ran in a sloppy, crowded course. About 370 boys competed in the varsity race, and more than 300 girls participated.
Kaitlyn Fischer of Herculaneum won the girls race with a time of 18:11. Chris Mooneyham of Glendale was the boys winner with a time of 16:24.
