Republic senior Elijah Bean has committed to play soccer for MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois.
“I wanted a small school, and I wanted a program that was growing, and that I felt like I could contribute to,” says Bean.
The soccer program at MacMurray is on the upswing. After going winless in 2010, they were 8-11 last year. The team has 11 players back for next season.
“I’ve played other sports and I’ve done all right, but I’ve finally found one that I’ve been able to continue improving,” says Bean.
Bean will enter the pre-law program at MacMurray next fall.
