Tigers Fall Flat in Fourth

The Republic Tigers held Ozark to just one point in the fourth quarter. But Ozark went one better, shutting out Republic in the final period to earn a 46-43 win. Both offenses disappeared in the fourth quarter, but despite their poor finish, Republic still had a chance to force overtime at the buzzer. Nick Yocum’s off-balance three-point attempt was off the mark, and Ozark escaped with the win.

Only three players total finished in double figures in scoring. Yocum had 13 and Marcus Miller had 10 for Republic. Bret Krisik scored ten for Ozark.

Republic led 19-14 after the first period, but that’s when the offensive struggles began for the Tigers. They were outscored 20-11 in the second quarter, and trailed 34-30 at the half. Republic outscored Ozark 13-11 in the third quarter, but they wouldn’t score again the rest of the way.

Republic falls to 9-2, suffering their first loss since the first week of the season against Rogers, Ark.
