Brady McGill scored 13 points as the Republic freshman boys beat Branson 43-34 to start the season.
The Tigers jumped on top early, dominating the first quarter, before Branson clawed back and took the lead briefly in the second half.
Parker Nelson had a couple of 3-pointers in the first half to spark Republic’s quick start.
