It was a big volleyball weekend for Republic teams. The varsity and freshman teams were both in action, with the freshmen competing at the Joplin Tournament and the varsity team playing some of the best competition in the state at the Springfield Classic.
For the freshmen, the weekend was a complete success, as they won the tournament title in Joplin. It ended a dominating week in which they also blew past Kickapoo’s freshman team on Tuesday.
In Springfield, Republic swept through pool play undefeated with wins over St. Francis Borgia, Westminster and Lebanon. They won one match in bracket play before losing a close match in three games to Lafayette.
