Tigers Waste Solid Pitching Effort by Woods

Junior Garrett Woods was the tough-luck losing pitcher in a 3-2 loss to Carl Junction Thursday. Woods allowed just three runs on three hits in six innings. Patrick Dickens pitched a scoreless 7th inning for the Tigers.

Carl Junction broke on top with two runs in the top of the 1st inning. The Tigers tied it in the bottom of the 2nd, but a single run in the top of the 5th proved to be the decisive run for the Bulldogs.

Nathan Strobel and Josh Marler each doubled twice for Republic.

The Tigers fall to 0-4. Carl Junction is 3-1.
