Josh Morrow scored 21 points and Kevin Stander added 20, as Republic edged Reeds Spring on the road Friday, 56-53.
The Tigers fell behind early, and trailed 13-10 at the end of the 1st quarter. But they used a big 2nd quarter, outscoring the Wolves 15-8, to take a 25-21 lead into halftime. Reeds Spring whittled the lead down to one at the end of the 3rd quarter, but Republic managed to hang on.
Besides Morrow and Stander, no other Tigers player scored in double figures. Nick Dibben and Nick Yocum had five points apiece. Jonathan Combs scored three points, and Dylan Fletcher added two.
Kyle Fleck led Reeds Spring with 15 points. Marcus Johnson and Chris Jones each scored 10 for the Wolves.
