Through three events this spring, Republic has two of its fishing pairs in the top five in the state, and three in the top 25. No other school has two teams in the top 10, and no other school has three in the top 25. Three-hundred teams are listed.
Ryan Cameron and Tyler Ghan are in third place out of 300 teams in Missouri. Kade Houchin and Kaden Dawson are just two slots behind them, in fifth place. Kolby Mooneyham and Cameron Beck are ranked 22nd.
The teams have competed at Truman Lake, Lake of the Ozarks, and Table Rock Lake so far this season. They’ll be at Bull Shoals on June 3 and Stockton on June 17.
Because of their sixth-place finish at Truman Lake, Houchin and Dawson qualified for The Bass Federation National Championship of High School Fishing. That tournament will be held on Pickwick Lake in Alabama. (Get information on sponsorships and fundraising for their trip here.)
