Webb City Dominates Tigers

Webb City showed why it’s one of the top-ranked teams in the state, in a dominating 41-6 victory over Republic Friday. The Cardinals used an explosive ground game and a suffocating defense to sprint to a 34-6 lead at halftime. They scored a touchdown early in the 2nd half to stretch their lead to 35 points, then merely traded possessions with the Tigers the rest of the way.

Maddy Johnson rushed for around 200 yards and four touchdowns. All four of his scores were on long runs — of 49, 34, 44, and 40 yards.

Republic’s lone touchdown came late in the 2nd quarter, on a Ryan Sifferman 1-yard run.

The win gives Webb City a 6-0 record. Republic drops to 1-5.
