Both the JV and Freshman football teams picked up victories Monday night. The freshmen won their first game of the season on a rain-soaked field in Springfield. They beat Central, 18-16.
Things stayed mostly dry in Republic, where the JV team played Waynesville. Republic led 8-0 at halftime, thanks to a 4-yard touchdown run in the second quarter by QB Jesse Inman. They pulled away in the second half with two more touchdowns, including one on a punt return, for a 24-0 victory.
