Freshman Cason Bekemeier had already medaled in two of his first three high school varsity tournaments going into this week, and he topped that Monday at the Carthage Invitational. Bekemeier shot an even-par 71 to finish in a three-way tie for first after 18 holes. Carl Junction’s Jack Spencer won the tournament title on the first playoff hole, with Bekemeier finishing second and Max Templeman of Carthage taking third.
Bekemeier had earned medals at Marshfield and Ozark last week, so Monday’s performance gives him three straight medal-winning finishes.
