Track and Field Resurgence Continues at JFK

Republic’s boys and girls track teams earned 19 medals over the past two days: eight by the girls Thursday and 11 by the boys Friday. It’s the highest combined total of top-eight finishes for the two teams at Girls Night Out and Boys Night Out since at least 2008, before which results are not available online. (The previous highest combined total was 14 in 2021, when the girls won ten medals and the boys won four.)

Only two schools – Blue Springs South with 16 and Blue Springs with 13 – earned more medals than Republic. Capital City also earned 11 medals.

Landen Finley was Republic’s top individual finisher this year. He took second place in the 400m run with a time of 52.00.
